Can I use this emergency hanger with a thru-axle system? No, it is only compatible with Quick-Release wheel systems.

Can I leave the hanger in place and just continue using it as normal? No, this hanger is not for extended use. It is intended for roadside or trailside repair only and is a get-you-home, temporary solution. You must have the hanger replaced with the correct variety immediately.

Will my sprocket range be affected? Yes, the emergency dropout does not sit in the same place as the original (it is further outboard) so care must be taken so that the chain does not derail. The gears may not index correctly either so temporary adjustment may be required.
